Saturday Drama Classes: 4-Week Sessions

Each 4-week session is designed to explore a theatrical genre through theatre games, dramatic exercises, and character building. Students will work together as a team to learn new ways to use their voices and bodies expressively, create bold characters, and discover the fundamentals of storytelling. Our 12-week classes are designed for students who crave a more in-depth acting experience. Working with the same teaching artist and ensemble of students for a full semester creates a supportive environment where the class can bond as a trusted community. Students will develop their understanding of the actor's process, build theatre vocabulary, and develop their skills in communicating expressively by exploring the "actor toolbox" of body, voice, and imagination. This spring, students will spend the first eight weeks focused on skill-building in these areas, and then will apply the skills they learned during the final four weeks. On the final day, family and friends are invited to a demonstration of skill-building exercises and an informal presentation. Kids Company will be working on poems; Junior Artists Company will be working on open scenes.
