Accessibility and Inclusion

Performances for Everyone

NCT strives to make its performances and facilities accessible to all. In addition to physical accessibility, the following program enhancements are provided.

ASL Sign-interpreted Performances

NCT offers professionally sign-interpreted performances for all of its mainstage productions through a partnership with Gate Communications.

Interpreted dates for public performances are:
- Sunday 9/25 at 2pm, Afflicted: Daughters of Salem
- Sunday 11/20 at 2pm, Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook
- Sunday 1/29 at 2pm, Treasure Island
- Sunday 3/5 at 2pm, And In This Corner: Cassius Clay
- Sunday 5/7 at 2pm, Goodnight Moon
*Individual tickets will be on sale August 13th, 2016. Purchase Season Memberships here.

When choosing your seats, be aware that the interpreter is usually positioned in front of the stage, house left. Interpreted dates for student matinees are available by calling the reservations manager at 615-252-4662.

Sensory Friendly Performances

NCT welcomes everyone to our performances, but we know that some families hesitate to bring their children to live theatre without knowing how they might react. The Sensory Friendly Performances are designed to be a safe and accepting environment where children with disabilities or sensory sensitivities and their typically developing peers are free to speak and move in reaction to the story being told onstage.

Sensory Friendly dates for public performances are:
- Saturday 10/1 at 2pm, Afflicted: Daughters of Salem
- Saturday 11/19 at 2pm, Junie B. Jones Is Not a Crook
- Saturday 1/28 at 2pm, Treasure Island
- Saturday 3/11 at 2pm, And In This Corner: Cassius Clay
- Saturday 5/6 at 2pm, Goodnight Moon
*Individual tickets will be on sale August 13th, 2016. Purchase Season Memberships here.

Social stories for each Sensory Friendly Performance are available on our website approximately two weeks prior to the performance date. During the performance, a sensory guide will raise a glow wand when something abrupt or startling is about to occur.  When choosing your seats, be aware that the sensory guide is usually positioned in front of the stage, house left.

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices are available free of charge for patrons who would benefit from additional audio amplification. These devices may be checked-out from our box office in exchange for a valid driver's license or state-issued ID, which will be returned upon return of the device.

Our Assistive Listening System allows for users to hear an amplified, live sound feed of our productions. Receivers are worn lanyard-style. Users may choose between a clip-on ear-speaker (which fits around either ear) or, for those who have T-Coil enabled hearing aids, a Neckloop which transmits directly into their T-Coil.

Courtesy Wheelchair

You may reserve a courtesy wheelchair for your visit by calling the box office at 615-252-4675.

Junior League of Nashville Comfort Room

NCT provides a Comfort Room in the back of our theatre where audience members can adjust both light and sound levels. This Comfort Room is available for any performance at NCT.

Alternate Format Programs

Large Print Show Programs are available at the box office for each performance upon request. Electronic Programs are available by emailing Bob Roberts, our Front of House Manager, at broberts@nashvillect.org.

Spanish-Language Options

A written Spanish-language play synopsis is available at the box office for each performance upon request.
