Nashville Children's Theatre presents

Still Life with IrisSTILL LIFE WITH IRIS
A beautiful, original vision by Steven Dietz, one of America's most imaginative contemporary playwrights

April 28 - May 17, 2009

As you sleep, the moon must first be placed in the sky before the Flower Painters, the Bug Sculptors, the Thunder Bottlers, the Leaf Monitors and the other citizens of the Land of Nocturno can busily prepare for your next day.  Iris, Finder of Lost Things and the daughter of the Teacher of the Wind and the long-absent Day Breaker, is taken from her home against her will by the enigmatic Mr. Matternot. Whisked away to the Island of the Greatest Goods, she is placed in their collection of the Best of the Best Things.  So that she will not be sad, the memories of her family are taken from her, all except one.  Compelled by that lone memory - a still life of a table, vase, iris and three chairs, assisted by the beautiful young Anabel Lee and the 11-year-old Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, this determined Finder of Lost Things will find herself, her father and her way home.  Like the play's heroine, you will never forget the simple beauty of Still Life With Iris.

Enjoyed by all ages
